Riots

Riots are terrible things that affect lots of people.  They are things which affect large sections of society.  When Britain had its riots in 2011 (Find out more here), there was mass reports into how this affected people and what the police and the government, were going to move on from here.  So wouldn't you like to know how riots are going to be looked at and how we are going to go on from here?  I would….

So what studies has the Home office completed into riots? After asking this question, the home office asked me to clarify what I meant by this…  D’OH!!!  After clarification, I did get a lot of information about riots, such as their guidance given on how to manage riots, the report into the 2011 riots, and a review into the riots (Gotta Love section 16!). Now I find this interesting, because it shows that we have access into how, and what, is being looked into with regards to riots.

Other people have looked into this matter.  For example, someone asked if the main cause had been looked into.  Not only that, there has been a company that has looked into this.  Here is all the correspondence about this matter. Isnt it fun to find this stuff out.  I didn't realize there was information about this. So what about the army?  I asked them, what non lethal weapons they have and how much was spent on the development of non lethal weapons?  Here is the answer.  This is the coolest thing:

The Ministry of Defence Police, in common with most Police Forces, have Tasers and Baton
Launchers. Similarly, elements of the Armed Forces have batons and while no longer ‘in-
service’ (not be used) stil have some L67A4 Riot Guns in stock.

They also spent £4.6 million on non lethal measure.  Classy!

Now the thing is that I have yet to hear back from the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) about riots (At time of writing).  They do have another couple days to get back in touch me. The thing is that is going to be an interesting one because it shows how many are trained and how many trainers there are.  Wouldn't it be interesting to find out what they have done to help riots control in other areas of Wales.

From here we can determine a number of things.  One is that Riots are something that are taken seriously. Another is the fact that these things are investigated.  Another is that there is a lot more out there than this post.
