Daniel Morgan Murder

Podcasts are amazing. There is such a different variety of things on a wide range of things.  One of the new ones that has popped up is the Daniel Morgan Murder podcast.   Its  one so of the best podcasts since Serial started. Well researched and well thought out, it's a great British podcast which has a lot of twists and turns  already (And it's only  episode 4!)  The  really cool is that because it is a British murder the FoI act can help us out. Let's see what we can see which is outstanding.

First off, it is a cold case.  Looking at things generally we can find out a few things.  For example, how long do the Metropolitan Police Service keep files before destroying them?  How can you get hold of cold case files?  How many cold Case Files do they still have?  These are all questions which can help us to look at the wider picture.

As this is an emotional issue and a lot of people want answers too. Mr P.John has been really on the case asking TWICE for the status of a Judicial Review into the case (Find out here and here).  This sort of thing does annoy me, because this guy is pursuing the FoI for personal reasons (Which is fair enough, but not what the law is  for)

Part of the intrigue of this case is the police corruption.  The results of the investigation?  Here you are!  The costs of looking into the murder are still yet to be answered (Find out here and here.  For more specifics about the investigation (Abelard) you can find out more from here.  Terms of the investigation into the murder are here and here.

After finishing the above section, I feel that I have cheated you.  This is a topic that goes much deeper into the British establishment and has a lot more to it than I am doing (This is basically a sign post, where I am directing you to the relevant requests).  The thing is this is an active cold case. They are still investigating it. The thing that we can gather from this is the fact that we can look for more information.  I think that thing that I Pull most from this is that there are things that we can still look for.

At time of writing, I am still waiting for responses from the MPS.  I want to know if we can pull up the case files for the Daniel Morgan murder and see if there is some things that were not looked at.  Wouldn't it be fun to look at  a cold case?
